1. For the steel bars fixed at both ends: the longitudinal bars of beams and slabs. The upper and lower longitudinal bars of beams have been extended into the supports and cannot rotate. Therefore, positive and negative thread coupler must be used.
2. For the parts where one end of the steel bars is fixed, such as the main bars of columns and the bars of walls, which have been fixed by pouring concrete at one end, only positive and negative thread coupler can be used.
3. In areas where steel bars are densely packed and cannot be rotated, such as the core area of beam-column joints, the steel bars in dark columns and coupling beams of shear walls are too dense for hands and wrenches to rotate. Positive and negative thread coupler are the most convenient.
4. For steel bars that need to be of a fixed length and position, such as components with precise length requirements that cannot be stretched or contracted, and the steel bars near expansion joints and settlement joints, the coupler can be tightened without changing the length of the steel bars.
